What We Do
Overview | Assisting Youth in Crises | Youth Engagement and Action | Counseling and Support
Oasis Center works to help young people overcome serious challenges that prevent them from transitioning into a healthy adulthood. We are committed to partnering with young people to address these challenges, including homelessness, violence, depression and low self esteem, disconnection, and failing schools.

Our success depends upon our ability to provide a foundation of caring and supportive relationships through which young people can

  • be emotionally and physically safe;
  • experience a sense of significance, belonging and connection; and
  • have opportunities to show generosity and work for a more just community.

Oasis Center is located in Nashville, Tennessee, and the majority of youth come from Metropolitan Nashville and surrounding counties, although there are no geographical boundaries to services. Services are primarily available to youth ages 12-17; however, we serve youth experiencing homelessness through the age of 21.

Across programs, youth come from 60 different schools and homes that speak more than 26 different languages. They generally represent Nashville’s ethnic diversity (Caucasian 35%, African-American 37%, Hispanic 6%, other 22%).  Spanish language information and services are available to those needing them. 80% of the youth participating in our programs would be considered low-wealth. Through educational outreach, Oasis reaches an additional 12,000 youth and adults each year. Oasis Center serves all youth regardless of gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, socio-economic status, or physical ability.
