Volunteering at Oasis
Thank you for your interest in Oasis Center!
Want to lend a hand? Oasis Center has over 300 quintessential volunteers active in many ways. Some cook meals, mentor, or help administratively. Others hand out survival packs to homeless youth, teach workshops or help with academics. We also have volunteers go out and educate the community about Oasis Center and National Safe Place.
Some of our activities are one-time opportunities. Others require a little more commitment. Much of our work is centered on building positive relationships with young people, so most of our volunteers commit to weekly or biweekly involvement upwards of one year. If you are interested to apply for volunteer work or an internship with Oasis Center, click here!
It all begins with an application, a personal interview and attending a volunteer orientation. Volunteers also submit to a national background check and provide personal references.
Current Needs
We have many important needs to fill this fall. In particular, we have two opportunities that are especially in need of volunteer help. To apply for any of the below positions, or to ask any questions, please email ASuitter@oasiscenter.org. Various other positions will be available this winter and spring. Thank you!
The Bike Shop:
The Workshop is going mobile! If you have a basic knowledge of bicycles and transportation to and from the various sites in Nashville, this might be for you! Volunteers work with young people to help build a bike from the ground up, learn some bike safety, and ride the greenways in Nashville with the young people at the end of the month. Due to the rapidly changing schedule of the Bike Shop, please contact Dan Furbish at dfurbish@oasiscenter.org for more information about our current activities and volunteer opportunities.
