Just Us
Why can’t we be . . .
Just Us is an Oasis Center program dedicated to serving young people, 13-21 years of age, who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or are questioning their sexual orientation and/or
gender identity.
Just Us provides services focused on support and advocacy through:
1) Relentless outreach to young people, their families, and community allies
2) Support and educational events for engaged youth every Tuesday, 4:30-6:30pm
3) Monthly social events for engaged youth and guest youth
4) Individual support and group counseling
5) Advocacy with schools, families and others identified by youth
6) Referrals and door openers with other programs, agencies, and services
Every month, young people come together to form a circle and stand in their truth. No matter what their truth is, they are heard, they are respected, and they are embraced by a group of their peers and supportive adults. Creating a safe space to share feelings and life
experiences is the goal of “Pride Circle.” If you are seeking to be real and to build your inner strength, then you should join the circle and be a part of a life changing experience!

Knowledge is what empowers us with the courage to explore our world with intention and purpose.
“Equality 101” explores topics of historical significance to the LGBT community as well as engages young people in social action. Areas of concern are identified by our young people and then developed into youth led service learning and social change projects by youth for a youth led educational opportunity.
If you want to learn, grow and create change in
the community, Equality 101 is for you!

Need a place to hang out that is welcoming and engaging? Do you enjoy a good cup of coffee?
Do you love to listen to great music or slam poetry? Are you itching to just dance and let the energy flow? Just Java is the place for you! Every month, Oasis Center turns into a 21 and under coffee house for LGBT young people and their friends, to kick back and chill!
Entertainment varies each month and is chosen by the young people who frequent Just Java!
This is your coffee house – come and make yourself at home.
2nd Saturday of the Month (Aug-May)

Here’s a few more ways to get involved:
Gay It Forward! After indentifying the areas of concern within the community and creating an action plan during Equality 101, LGBT high school students come together to form a team of community volunteers who “pay it forward” to another community member or agency. Afterward, we re-connect to reflect on the impact and celebrate our accomplishment! 3rd Tuesday of every month, 4:30-6:30pm, Aug-May.
Pop “Q” Culture Art, music, dance, theatre, film, video, games and social media are packed full of energy and insights–if you’re paying attention! Each month, we’ll invite you to share an inspirational and/or motivational aspect of pop culture that is meaningful to you. From there, we’ll explore the impact it has on the community as a whole. 4th Tuesday of each month, 4:30-6:30pm, Aug-May.
