Crisis and Residential Support

Crisis and Residential Support

For over 40 years, Oasis has been the one place in Middle Tennessee where teens in crisis can turn for help.

Our immediate crisis intervention services include:

Emergency Youth Shelter- The only residential shelter in Nashville for teens (ages 13 – 17) who have runaway or are homeless, we offer a two week therapeutic program that provides young people in crisis mode a place of respite, support, and healing. For 40 years, this program has demonstrated incredible success helping a young person stabilize emotionally and socially so that they can successfully reunite with their families.

At the foundation of crisis services is assuring that young people are safe and know how to assure their own safety.

94% of the youth who stayed at our shelter reported that they felt safer returning home and more able to ensure their own safety.

Street Outreach Program- An experienced and dedicated team of staff and volunteers walk the streets of Nashville every week making sure homeless youth know that there are people and places where they can turn to for help.

Our main goal with Street Outreach is ensuring that young people increase their safety. Each youth brings their own concerns, experiences and challenges so the work of street outreach is individually targeted to each young person. For some this is choosing safer places to sleep, for others it is changing relationship patterns or exiting the streets for more permanent and secure housing.

100% of the youth who engage with our street outreach team are safer as a result.

Memorial Foundation Outreach Center- open Monday-Friday from 11 AM- 2 PM, our Outreach Center offers young people living on the streets of Nashville a safe, welcoming place where they can access hot meals, a shower, counseling, or just about anything else they need to start the healing process.

Harwell Lofts- Our Harwell Loft residential program offers homeless youth (ages 18-21) an opportunity to get back on their feet while living with us for up to 20 months.

Youth come to the Harwell Lofts because they need support in starting fresh and getting safely on their feet. To this end each youth has a goal to increase connections with adults and institutions who can support them as they transition to independence.

100% of our Loft residents report feeling connected to those resources when they move out and start living on their own.

24-hour Crisis Hotline- If young people need help, experienced counselors are standing by and available by phone 24/7/365 at 1-866-975-FREE

Project Safe Place- Oasis Center manages Middle Tennessee’s most comprehensive safety net designed to make sure young people have access to our continuum of residential and counseling services 365 days a year. Any young person can walk into any of our 300 Safe Place locations across Davidson, Williamson, Sumner and Rutherford Counties and be immediately connected with our emergency shelter.
